Grant Thornton is seeking a Manager to join its Advanced Digital Technology and Analytics (ADTA) practice and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.Grant Thornton's Public Sector helps executives and managers at all levels of government maximize performance and efficiency in the face of ever tightening budgets and increased demand for services. Our public sector team members find solutions that help government leaders with issues including acquisitions, financial management, human capital, information technology and performance management in federal, state, local and international governments.--- ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Oversee design and implementation of advanced fraud analytics solutions--- Guide team through the application of advanced fraud analytics and technical thought leadership--- Lead meetings with client stakeholders--- Query and mine large data sets to discover patterns, examine data and filter for targeted information using traditional/exploratory/advanced analytic techniques--- Develop advanced data models/star schemas for modeling and report development--- Work with and within cross-functional teams to identify appropriate business solutions to client challenges--- Provide coaching and mentorship in the field of analytics, including when to use certain techniques, method application, and quality assurance--- Lead business development activities, such as proposals, capture, whitepapers, and/or other thought leadership materialsSecondary Responsibilities:--- Experience using advanced analytic techniques such as data mining, predictive modeling, modeling and simulation analysis, to conduct analyses such as fraud detection and risk scoring--- Experience using statistical packages such as SAS, R, SPSS, SQL, Python, STATA, and RapidMiner--- Knowledge and experience using cloud computing technologies such as AWS or Azure--- Educational background in quantitative fields such as analytics, data science, statistics, economics, or mathematics. Masters preferred.--- Relevant professional certifications--- US citizen is required.Technical Skills Required:--- At least 5 years of experience with machine learning techniques, both supervised and unsupervised modeling for anomaly detection, and 2 years of experience developing risk scoring models and/or fraud analytics solutions--- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with R or Python, as well as Tableau and/or PowerBI--- At least 5 years of experience leading teams in building and delivering analytic solutions with advanced analytic techniques such as data mining, predictive modeling, simulation, and text mining

  • QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
  • Experience with Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Data Visualization, Requirements Elicitation, Statistical Analysis, Business Intelligence.
  • Proficiencies in Reporting Analysis and Strategy Development, Data Collection, Analysis and Interpretation, Report and Dashboard Development, Database Modeling and Design, Database Systems Assessment.
  • U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff members.
  • Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
  • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
