Job Description:

Job Summary:

The National Board seeks a Director of Data and Systems to provide leadership to Salesforce and other databases and IT systems at the center of our organizational growth goals. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Candidate Experience and Systems, the director will have full ownership of the organization's data and develop a deep understanding of the complex data sets and processes to deliver visualizations. The Director will develop Salesforce applications that engage staff and promote transparency of goals and will manage day-to-day system support, optimization, reporting, business process configurations, security assignments, and adopt best practices relating to the use of Salesforce.

The Director will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will manage the data and systems team of two staff, working cross-functionally with all teams to provide org-wide technology support and management of data input, integrity, and output.

Salary Band:
$110,000 - $140,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Database Leadership
Architecture: Design and deploy mission-critical database systems including Salesforce, SQL, Tableau, and Salesforce Communities.
Modeling: Map workflows and relationships in the data set for information to be organized and normalized.
Development: Design, customize, and maintain Salesforce apps.
Reporting and Visualizations: Create reports and design dashboards with a focus on ease of consumption.

Team Management
Manage a team of two staff who are responsible for IT systems support, SQL database work, database integrations, data integrity, and vendor management.
Support individual staff engagement, performance, development, and advancement.
Contribute to a strong collaborative culture within the team and with other teams across the organization.
Oversee the department's IT budget and allocation of funds, including monthly forecasting and annual budget process.

Technology Connections
Research various technology applications and present solutions.
Manage technology vendors in support of application development and relevant project implementations.
Participate in cross-functional team meetings to build business partnerships and recommend technology focused solutions.
Stay current on the latest technology trends.

Other Areas of Responsibility
Other duties as assigned.
Opportunities to volunteer on a variety of internal committees.

Summary of Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required
Salesforce admin experience required
Team management experience required
Microsoft SQL Server required
Minimum of 6 years of work experience in a database management role or equivalent; non-profit experience a plus
Tableau or other data visualization system experience preferred

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Continuous standing, walking and sitting throughout the day.
Some light lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required
Continuous typing and viewing of a computer screen may be required.
Work performed at the National Board's office. Travel sites vary in comfort.
Must be able to calmly and effectively work with high stress situations.

Full Time

Location:
The National Board's office is located in Arlington, VA; however, National Board staff are currently working remotely due to COVID-19.
