Communications Manager Founded in 1989, our client is an industry sector focused nonprofit dedicated to achieving workforce and community social responsibility goals through STEM education programming, employee engagement and the promotion of volunteerism. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Manager is fully responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of communications, marketing, and digital strategies to advance the organization---s mission, build brand recognition, provide program support, and reach new donors and partners. To succeed, you must have a passion for innovating and a positive, can-do attitude that is grounded in the understanding of the diverse communication needs of nonprofit organizations supporting all levels of the organization to achieve program and revenue goals. Responsibilities: The Communication Manager---s work will be multi-faceted working in partnership with development and program staff which will include, but will not be limited to the following: Design and customize an innovative strategic communications and marketing plan as well as build and implement strategic content and editorial calendars, leveraging technology and other outside resources to bring the mission of the organization to life for all our stakeholders. Lead and build consensus with other team members to develop digital and marketing collateral for program and fund development activities. Partner with our stakeholders to leverage opportunities for communicating our mission, using strong cross-functional management skills. Support fund development and thought leadership efforts by creatively illustrating the outcomes and impacts on students and teachers that participate in our programs. Act as point of contact for daily communications delivering a fully functional program. Job Requirements:Qualifications:---------------- At the forefront of digital trends. Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities. Strong working knowledge of email marketing , social media, and video to build brand awareness, program delivery, and revenue generation efforts, including the use of metrics tracking and analytical tools to maximize impact. Excellent, proven writing, editing (photo/video/copy), presentation and communication skills, preferably in a nonprofit setting-- with expertise in media relations, marketing, and strategic communications. Established relationships with a variety of media outlets is a plus. Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications and marketing plan across the network's discreet audiences in collaboration with the staff and stakeholders. Lead all content development generation that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Decide who, where and when to disseminate. Manage and review website for accuracy and necessary updates; Post new items, track website traffic and prepare monthly analysis to maximize impact. Website updating/re-branding experience is a plus. Develop and coordinate distribution through internal and external channels - news releases, program summaries, fact sheets, blog posts, etc.-- Prepare top quality presentation and pitch material, program fact sheets, speeches, and grant proposals. Prepare meeting notices, agendas, and supporting material for Board of Trustees and committee meetings. Manage shared drive for all communication and marketing material so that staff have access to the most up-to-date documents for program outreach and fundraising efforts. Must display organization, efficiency, self-management, and administrative skills. Good attention to detail is a must. Assist in planning and organizing events. Occasional travel required (up to 30%). -- Required Credentials: ------------- Bachelor---s required and Master---s preferred in communications or marketing. ------------- At least 5-7 years of prior professional experience in a communications, marketing or member/donor relations role with education or industry nonprofit experience preferred. Knowledge of the chemical and chemical-related industries is a plus. ------------- Experience developing and implementing communications strategies fully leveraging digital platforms. Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, donors, and industry partners. Includes the ability to build constructive team spirit where colleagues are committed to organizational goals ------------- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently with tact and diplomacy, frequently under tight deadlines. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical. ------------- Motivated by challenging the status quo and passion for continuous improvement.
