Job Summary:

The Transition& Relocation Management (TRM) Project Manager is responsible for all TRM related activities in support of client projects. A successful candidate has an ability to communicate clearly with all parties involved in a project, including key stakeholders, internal customers, team members and vendor partners and lead a project team around a common set of goals. This role requires the ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service, teamwork, and attention to detail in order to insure client satisfaction. Must be able to deal with conflicts while maintaining professionalism and focus on the project goals. This role reports directly to the Senior Project Manager.

Team Summary: The TRM team focuses on corporate real estate relocation projects located throughout the East Coast. Projects will occur around the New York City or Greater Washington D.C. area. Team members must be available evenings and weekends as needed for successful management of projects and travel as needed for projects.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrates ability to integrate with our client's real estate, construction, facilities management and vendor teams to facilitate their transition and relocation needs to ensure a smooth transition to a new workplace
  • Plan and manage successfully relocations up to 1,000 people
  • Manage and average of 2-4 projects simultaneously from inception to close out
  • Manage a team of 1-3 direct reports (if applicable)
  • Ensure client satisfaction throughout the relocation process
  • Ensure all relocation management activities are performed in a manner consistent with documented processes and in accordance with client's and PPM's policies and procedures
  • Initiate meetings to review move schedules with move vendors and key stakeholders
  • Prepare various RFP's& level for vendor and contractor services for the complete project
  • Prepare/update project status reports, review invoices and ensure timely payment, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials
  • Incorporate "best practices" and continual process improvement is conducted and documented
  • Demonstrates capability to read and understand project documents including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, drawings, client work requests, vendor proposals, electrical, and data management documents and building infrastructure documents
  • Conduct onsite field audits before, during and after completion of project
  • Develops and maintains complete knowledge of vendor service and material capabilities. Complete understanding of vendor processes and deliverables

    --Determine the pricing for any non-baseline work requested (i.e. construction-related needs, furniture reconfigurations, people relocations that exceed baseline parameters, etc.)

    --Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders, vendors, facilities, and contractors to ensure scope, schedule, and budget is on time and within scope.

    --Conduct pre and post move walks and assist in providing resolution to issues that arise

    • Other duties as assigned

      Experience/Training/Education/Certification:

      • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) preferred
      • CAPM, PMP, NCIDQ, LEED, CFM desired
      • 3-4 years of facility, project, or construction related experience in Corporate Real Estate Environment
      • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Visio
      • Roles requires daily communication with client and team members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
      • Must be able to inspect design plans and documents for accuracy

        Physical Requirements:

        • Must be able to travel to and from Washington, D.C. or New York on an as needed and may range from 0-4 nights per week
        • Must be available for occasional weekend or evening work as required by move schedules
        • The person in this role needs to be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
        • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to safely access construction sites
