Job Description The Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Mechanic performs all HVAC services at the customer site in Shepherdstown, WV. With Benefits: $34.66/hr Without Benefits: $39.59/hr Key Job Functions Installs, services and repairs environmental-control systems in commercial establishments, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment. Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape using cutting and bending equipment and tools, joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of couplings or unions and solders joints using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant, installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit. Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and ventilation fans to control panels, installs air and water filters and adds Freon to build up prescribed operating pressures. Clean refrigeration condensers and cooling towers. Maintain oil fired boilers to include water tube, fire tube and sectional boilers. Maintains kitchen equipment to include walk in units, reach in boxes, ovens, steamer, dish washers and ice machines. Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation, tests joints and connections for gas leaks using gauges or soap-and-water solution, wraps pipes in insulation, replaces defective electrical controls to include thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to installed units. May install, repair and service air conditioners ranging in various cooling capacity in all buildings. May be required to perform other duties to include but not limited to after hours shift coverage, holiday coverage, housekeeping of assigned areas, event set ups, and office moves. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications Must possess Universal HVAC Certification Valid state issued driver’s license with Real ID Additional Information COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS Teamwork Results orientation/operational excellence Holding self and other accountable Operational business thinking All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
