the position. Position Summary ISI is seeking a Construction
Electrical Engineer to support the Switchgear and Automatic
Transfer Switch (ATS) Replacement project at the Baltimore VA
Medical Center. This position provides full-time onsite Owner’s
Representative support, ensuring safe, compliant installation of
electrical infrastructure serving a major healthcare facility. The
Engineer will oversee field work, review documentation, coordinate
with contractors, and support commissioning of critical electrical
distribution systems. Key Responsibilities Provide daily onsite
oversight of switchgear, ATS units, feeders, and electrical
distribution equipment Review electrical submittals, RFIs, shop
drawings, and testing procedures Verify contractor work complies
with NEC, NFPA 70/70E, VA standards , and project requirements
Support planning of outages, shutdowns, and cutover activities in a
hospital environment Monitor construction progress and report
impacts, risks, and issues Participate in commissioning and testing
activities, including energization and functional performance tests
Maintain accurate field documentation, including progress notes,
redlines, and quality observations Assist the VA with evaluating
change proposals, delay claims, and cost/schedule impacts Support
punch list development and final acceptance Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited
institution 6 years of experience in design and construction of
electrical systems, including switchgear, power distribution,
grounding, and emergency power systems Strong working knowledge of
NEC, NFPA, and related electrical codes Ability to read and
interpret electrical plans, riser diagrams, schedules, and
specifications Strong verbal and written communication skills
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or
other non-U.S. citizens lawfully authorized to work in the United
States without employer sponsorship, must have at least three (3)
years of U.S. residency, and must be able to successfully obtain
and maintain a VA PIV credential. Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer ( PE ) license preferred Experience
supporting electrical upgrades in healthcare or mission-critical
facilities Knowledge of redundancy systems, ATS configurations, UPS
systems, and emergency power sequencing Familiarity with VA
electrical design standards or TIL requirements Work Schedule and

Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Occasional off-hours work may be
required during shutdowns, tie-ins, or testing Must be required to
occasionally move and lift 20-30 pounds. Must be able to climb,
erect and maintain balance on a 30-40 pound ladder. Must be able to
remain in a stationary computer position for extended periods of
time. Must be able to walk up to 1.5 miles per day between
buildings. Must be able to stand for extended periods Must be
willing to work in external environments of rain, high heat and
significant cold. Must be able navigate active construction sites
containing uneven ground, debris, and active construction hazards
such as sharp objects, electrical hazards, and potential fall
