Type: Full-Time - Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret Required
Location: Washington, DC - Travel: Up to 30%

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer for one of our clients in the federal sector to lead enterprise network initiatives. This is an onsite, full-time role based in the DC area, offering the opportunity to manage and modernize a large-scale Cisco network infrastructure supporting critical government operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

Manage and maintain Cisco-based enterprise network infrastructure.
Lead network discovery to assess architecture, inventory (model, serial numbers, software versions), and lifecycle (EOL/EOS) data.
Develop custom tools and Python scripts to automate network discovery and configuration tasks.
Create and update network documentation, including diagrams and topology maps.
Provide expert-level recommendations based on network architecture and performance.
Offer informal training and knowledge transfer to client stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineering teams and federal contacts in a secure environment.


Required Qualifications:

6+ years of experience deploying and maintaining Cisco network environments.
Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
Proficiency in network scripting and automation using Python.
Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture, fundamentals, and management platforms.
Must be currently residing near the Washington DC metro area.
Must hold an active DoD Top Secret clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience working with firewalls in enterprise or federal environments.
Familiarity with federal network standards and compliance requirements.
