The Opportunity
To Address the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) Nuclear
Enterprise Support Directorate (NE), Mission Assurance (MA)
Department integrated, multidisciplinary, Mission Assurance
Assessments, BV Federal seeks an enthusiastic, articulate,
motivated Structural Engineer. The Structural Engineer will have
the opportunity to conduct assessments of all aspects of
structural-related vulnerabilities, increase the customer's
awareness of potential vulnerabilities and impacts on mission
execution capability, and provide recommendations to mitigate or
eliminate identified vulnerabilities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate successful experience
with DoD clients delivering vulnerability assessments that assess
vulnerabilities of critical U.S. and allied national/theater
mission systems, networks, architectures, infrastructures, and
assets.
The Team
The Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. has its mission to
provide a full range of services to our primary client base - U.S.
Government agencies and departments. With the unique skill sets we
have developed during the 100-plus years of service to our U.S.
Government agencies client base, we are able to provide
one-of-a-kind solutions to complex mission objectives that arise
out of specific challenges faced by and unique to these agencies.
Our primary areas of focus are: Architecture/Engineering (A/E)
Services, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and
Environmental.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct pre-site survey(s)
Support the development of the All Hazards and Threat
Assessment
Conduct analysis of information gathered from applicable systems,
orders, and plans as it relates to the assessment mission
focus.
Provide a post-assessment final report
Management Responsibilities
Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of
a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by
project.
Preferred Qualifications
Assigned to projects for US Government Agency / Department
Clients.Candidate must be a US Citizen.
Mastery in the performance of in-the-field vulnerability-based
assessments.
Extensive experience securing and processing classified materials
and systems
Typically 5+ years of related experience
Either a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field of study with
demonstrable emphasis (academic or experience) in structural design
and analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and
regulations.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Typical office environment, typical construction environment,
extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards
(electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places,
exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors,
dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking,
hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching,
stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of
time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
