Join us as we continue to move the future forward, together.Interim SecretAs our newest Technical Writer, you will work closely with software developers, test engineers, project management, support staff, and others to create and maintain user and administrator documentation for software applications. You will create and edit technical documentation throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for projects that use either agile or waterfall methodologies.The Technical Writer will have experience writing requirements including user stories, software testing to confirm content accuracy, and knowledge of industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience writing Enterprise, System-level (not just front end) documentation including Design Documents, Installation & Build Guides, Release Notes, and Online User Help. The ability to elicit and articulate application functionality and installation instructions concisely is also critical to your success in this role. This is a mission-centric opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative team that is responsible for implementing Department of State Agency-wide web-based software applications.Responsibilities include:

• Translate business strategies, customer expectations, and requirements into detailed narratives, specifications, flowcharts, and process flows
• Requirements gathering, meeting facilitation and documentation reviews
• Research and test web-applications to gather content and confirm documentation accuracy
• Prepare written content and diagrams, to articulate complex COTS and GOTS information for varied audiences
• Standards Development
• Manage time and expectations in the execution of product development, while meeting delivery dates
• Submit effective, concise communications regarding issues, risks, objectives, and initiatives
• Active Interim Secret Clearance
• 3+ years experience with the following:
• Writing, editing, proofreading technical documentation for a variety of audiences
• Experience with Agile & Waterfall IT Development Processes
• Microsoft Word
• Bachelors Degree
• Experience with RoboHelp, FrameMaker, SnagIt, and Visio
