Job Description:
RoleWe seek a friendly, reliable, and highly motivated
individual with strong communication skills who enjoys security
work to join the Security Team. As a member of this team, you will
make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping
computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and
securing sensitive data. You must be a positive and proactive
problem-solver with the ability to think on your feet while
providing excellent customer service.Responsibilities
- Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based
findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security
enhancement
- Engineer, monitor security measures for the protection of
computer systems, networks, and information
- Auditing systems for compliance
- Develop best practices and security standards/requirements and
document standard operating procedures and protocols for the
organization
- Test company software, firmware, and firewalls
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help
mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable
tasks
- Keep current with industry practices and emerging
threatsQualificationsThis position requires flexibility to work
additional hours and be on-call when necessary. In addition, the
ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years' experience as a System/Information Security
Engineer
- Certifications such as Security+ or equivalent desired
- Experience with AWS Infrastructure and their Security
systems
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system
security
- Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls,
intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication
systems, log management, content filtering, etc
- Understanding of the latest security principles, techniques,
and protocols
- Familiarity with web-related technologies (Web applications,
Web Services, Service-Oriented Architectures) and of network/web
related protocols
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as
they arise
- Basic coding skills, such as HTML, CSS and other
languagesTechnical Skills
- Highly responsive and proven professionalism in communication,
interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong skills in implementing and configuring security
components.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain in-depth knowledge of security and
networking infrastructure utilized by the company including the
management and reporting of each
- An understanding of best practices
