DESCRIPTION:
We are working with a fast-moving insurance organization that is
looking for a hands-on AWS Cloud Data Engineer to help set up data
lake house.
Position Summary:
Professional with deep domain hands on experience, technical expert
and go to person for all things related to AWS cloud Data and
Analytical services (storage, movement, and analytical cloud
services). Responsible for data engineering delivery/implementation
on AWS cloud to include taking full responsibility to ensure a very
secure data infrastructure. You will be the lead data engineering
technical point of contact. Solid planning, organizing and
communication competences are required. You will be responsible for
presenting cloud data solutions to given use cases, giving guidance
on options in architecting AWS data solutions and concisely
presenting the pros and cons and alternatives to proposed
solutions. A major component of this role will be workforce
transformation where you will provide knowledge transfer,
operational guidance, and training of team members on AWS cloud
technologies.
Responsibilities:
Provide data and analytical solutions to ensure efficient
manipulation, organization and sharing of information, data and/or
master data in a data-lake-house, data warehouse and data-mart
constructs.
Collaborate with implementation partners to define the appropriate
Cloud Database solutions, such as AWS Redshift, Database Migration
Services, Glue, EMR, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), S3, Relational
Database Service (RDS)/Aurora, and Amazon Kinesis.
Define access patterns, storage methods and integration patterns
for the movement and maintenance of data into unstructured,
relational and NoSQL databases.
Design and maintain diagrams of data flows and pipelines.
Provide cloud technical leadership and bring innovative cloud
technologies to the enterprise.
Develop and design models for complex analytical and data
warehouse/mart systems including performing tasks related to
database design, data analysis, data quality, metadata management
and support.
Work with diverse data sets in a wide variety of formats and
employed in a wide variety of highly siloed systems.
Expert in AWS cloud services for the designing and building of
complex ETL processes and the migration of data from a data center,
third parties and others to a cloud environment
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or minimum 5 years of equivalent work
experience.
Excellent verbal and written concise communication skills with
great attention to detail and accuracy.
AWS Certified Database, Data Analytics or Machine Learning
specialty certifications.
AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification within past three
years.
Solutions architecture experience in an enterprise environment with
an emphasis on data systems.
Specific experience designing, executing, and supporting AWS data
lake-houses at scale.
Experience designing, optimizing, and maintaining relational and
non-relational databases including MySQL, MS SQL, Redshift, AWS
RDS, and other NoSQL databases.
Experience with the design and building of ETL packages, APIs, data
pipelines and connecting these to BI tools and other applications/
entities.
Knowledge of data movement and data presentation tools such as
Informatica, MS SSIS, AWS Glue, Cognos, Tableau, QlikSense and AWS
QuickSight.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines and deliver production
ready results.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team and keep abreast
of new/emerging data cloud services.
Ability to transfer knowledge to team members and seeks
opportunities for continuous improvement.
