The Housing Associate, Campus Living and Residence Education is
responsible for advancing the vision, mission, goals, and
priorities of Campus Living and Residential Education ( CLRE ) at
the George Washington University. Reporting to the Assistant
Director, Campus Living & Residential Education, the incumbent is
responsible for daily oversight of central departmental desk
operations, providing excellent customer service to students,
families, faculty, staff, and visitors during the academic year and
summer terms. The Housing Associate, Campus Living, and Residence
Education will play a critical role in year-round student staff
supervision and execution of annual housing operations and
assignments processes.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily operations of central Campus Living & Residential
Education desk, office, and customer service processes in line with
academic year and summer strategic plans.
- Motivate, direct, supervise, and evaluate a combined 60
undergraduate student staff members across the academic year and
summer terms.
- Assist with the financial accounting and reconciliation of a
multimillion dollar, revenue-generating program. Review service
contracts and invoices and process payments.
- Completes ongoing financial reports and Summer housing
reservation reports and analysis.
- Coordinates the selection, training, and evaluation of both
academic year and summer student staff; reviews performance for
effectiveness and conformity with established policies and
procedures; recommends personnel actions as appropriate.
- Serve as a member of CLRE occupancy team, assisting with
planning, mass communication, and execution of major and minor
housing occupancy, application, and assignment periods, including
summer housing season and revenue operations.
- Manage central office operations, including monitoring office
supplies, technology needs, and daily opening and closing
procedures.
- Monitor customer service quality of all types of interactions
student staff have with GW and external customers.
- Provide response and support to families, students, and guests
with elevated concerns about their residential experiences. Resolve
issues at the point of need, appropriately communicate, and share
with others, including those who support the resolution and those
impacted.
- Assist in creating innovative methods of reaching customer
service goals.
- Participate in intra/inter-departmental meetings as necessary
and University committees as appropriate.
- Serve on occasional nights and weekends during major annual
housing application and assignment periods or campus-wide
emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned, including support for Division
for Student Affairs-wide projects and initiatives, including new
student orientation, student success initiatives, and university
events/traditions, as well as participating in and supporting
special events and activities and representing unit/division at
university-wide events.Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates
will hold a high school diploma/ GED plus 3 years of relevant
professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a
relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date
of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an
equivalent combination of education, training and
