Job Summary: Lafayette Group is seeking a creative, experienced visual graphic design and communications specialist to support strategic communications and graphic design for Federal Government programs. This position will support a variety of Federal cybersecurity programs aiming and reducing cyber risk across the federal government.



The successful candidate will be an adept communicator and thought leader with a balance of critical-thinking, written, and creative design skills. This position will involve working closely with federal clients to understand program needs and produce visually compelling print and digital products that clearly communicates and promotes key messages and solutions.



Job Responsibilities:


  • Create visually compelling materials (e.g., graphics, presentations, print, digital media products) for internal and external stakeholder audiences using new and pre-defined layouts
  • Interpret complex and technical concepts into visual content
  • Use industry standard software applications (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Maintain branding effectiveness and consistency in the design and review process
  • Perform in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Manage routine administrative tasks (e.g., produce internal and external reports)



    Required Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field
    • 3+ years of demonstrated professional experience interpreting and translating abstract information and original concepts into visual presentations and illustrative materials (e.g., infographics, strategic publications, digital collateral)
    • Strong knowledge of basic design principles and color theory for digital and print media
    • Strong experience in routine and strategic use of industry standard software tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat) and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Strong attention to detail, copyediting skills, and comfort applying design principles to recommendations for layout improvement
    • Create, edit, and upload compelling and interactive video, digital and social media content; write descriptions and tag videos, podcasts and other digital content across social media platforms and informational campaigns across all online platforms; assist in email marketing campaigns
    • Assist in the production of graphics; must have working knowledge of digital graphics to support marketing collateral for articles, web content, digital presentations, online events, podcasts and video production
    • Working knowledge of 508 compliance
    • Strong written and oral communications skills
    • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and working independently to meet various assignments and deadlines
    • Detail-orientated to maximize product quality



      Desired Qualifications:


      • Experience supporting Federal government programs and clients
      • External client-facing consulting experience
      • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and User Experience (UX) design
      • Experience working on communications and messaging campaigns involving emergency communications, telecommunications and public safety
      • Experience supporting government programs as a communications consultant
      • Existing Secret or Top Secret clearance



        Location: Local to D.C. Area or Remote



        Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.



        Salary Range: $65,000-80,000

New employees are not usually hired at the top of the estimated salary range and salary decisions depend on the circumstances and factors for each case.
