Job Description Job Description ROLE AND PURPOSE: To paint the
interior and exterior of District facilities, parking lots,
driveways, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High
School Diploma or approved equivalent preferred Four years
commercial building painting experience. Valid Texas driver's
license and a satisfactory driving record Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience in painting trade with background in painting of
commercial facilities Experience also required in general building
maintenance 4 years of experience using painting materials and how
to select, and apply them 4 years of experience in commercial
and/or construction painting techniques 4 years acquired aptitude
in using appropriate painting tools (brushes, caulking gun, etc.)
Working knowledge of health and safety precautions regarding
painting MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: · Follow all AISD
safety procedures as covered in AISD safety handbook · Abide by all
AISD policies and procedures as outlined in AISD auxiliary employee
handbook · Assume responsibility for safe operation and care of
assigned service vehicle, tools and equipment · Assume
responsibility for personal timecard · Assume responsibility for
maintenance and repair of all AISD physical facilities and
structures, programmed maintenance procedures, and assigned zone ·
Prepare sites for painting, including building scaffolds, operating
personnel lifts, etc. · Coordinate, organize and complete daily
assignments assuming responsibility for proper documentation
regarding assigned task, work orders and procurement of supplies ·
Initiate work orders within assigned zones as needs are recognized
by zone employee · Coordinate, organize, complete daily tasks
assuming responsibility for proper documentation for assigned work
orders · Assume responsibility for daily directives as given by
appropriate administrators · Assume all other duties as assigned to
serve the needs as determined to be in the best interest of the
AISD · Maintain effective and positive public relations rapport
within assigned department and with all other areas of contact
EQUIPMENT USED: · All of the following, associated with the
building trade, but not limited to: power tools i.e.: drills, saws,
hammer drills, pneumatic and electric man lifts, scaffolds,
ladders, basic hand tools, gas/electric powered spray equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking,
bending, stooping, lifting, reaching, pushing and pulling with
frequent exposure to water and chemicals. Prolonged use of computer
and repetitive hand motions. Must be able to lift twenty (20)
pounds unassisted and forty (40) assisted. Mental Demands: The
demands associated with time pressures and constraints with
frequent interruptions while maintaining emotional control under
stress. Must be mentally alert, able to learn and apply new methods
in all areas. Environmental Factors: Variable extremes in
temperature; loud noises; standing on hard floor surfaces while
working; numerous simultaneous activities; dealing with various
groups of employees.
