Job Description:
NSTA is looking for a Marketing Communications Coordinator. As a
member of the NSTA Marketing and Communications Team, the MarCom
Coordinator supports all aspects of the overall planning and
execution of organizational marketing activities and communication
strategy. In this role, the individual will help produce effective
marketing campaigns, promotional materials, press releases, and
support NSTA's digital initiatives. This is a cross-functional
position that will closely collaborate with other teams within the
organization. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of
professional experience in marketing, communications, public
relations, or related field This position will report to the
Director of Communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing - Assist with marketing plan development for NSTA's
various programs, products, and services - Maintain and update the
department editorial calendar to support marketing content
deployment - Coordinate and execute email campaigns, meeting
deadlines, following timelines, and ensuring uniformity of
content/messaging - Review and ensure the quality of marketing
distribution lists, create and secure lists as needed - Draft
website and email copy, newsletter blurbs, and other marketing and
sales collateral - Compile and analyze results of email marketing
campaigns - Serve as a proofreader for other members of the team -
Travel to NSTA conferences to support marketing and outreach
efforts
Communications/ Public Relations - Work with the Director of
Communications to generate and release media advisories, press
releases, and statements and proactively pitch outlets around key
issues - Draft leadership bios, fact sheets, and other PR
collateral as needed - Monitor education news and trends and
distribute daily clipping report to NSTA leadership and staff -
Maintain up-to-date press lists of journalists, influencers, and
other members of the media - Cultivate relationships with media
outlets and journalists/reporters to ensure efficient communication
and maximum coverage
Social Media - Assist with coordinating and executing social media
campaigns and ensuring alignment with overall marketing campaigns
and association mission - Monitor NSTA social media (Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube) and online presence and
post valuable, shareable content regularly - Manage social media
editorial calendar
Web Site Maintenance - Post press releases, statements, articles,
blog posts, and other materials as necessary to the NSTA website
using NSTA's content management system
REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES - Excellent writing and communication
skills - Ability to write and edit clear, engaging, and
grammatically correct content - Strong time management skills and
ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
in a high-energy, fast-paced environment - Effective team player
with strong interpersonal skills - Familiarity with various
marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including
social, digital, and email marketing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree in marketing,
communications, public relations, journalism, or related field from
a four-year college or university - 3+ years of professional
experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or
related field - Graphic design (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
and editing experience a plus - Experience with membership
organizations, non-profits, and/or government agency experience
strongly desired

Position LocationThis position is fully remote, but must be able to
travel to NSTA conferences when needed.
