The Senior Analyst Cost Accounting gathers and interprets financial
information effectively and forms data into meaningful and concise
analyses while considering a broad range of interdependent issues.
Your primary goal will be to assist in ensuring the accuracy and
first-time quality for Period End Close and quarterly Dynamic
Forecasts. You will be responsible forCosting Standard activities
within Nestle in the Market including timely, accurate and relevant
standardized management reporting and analysis as well as the
monthly close activities in compliance with the Period End Close
(PEC) process. You will identify areas for change and make
recommendations while managing multiple demands and competing
priorities. This position is highly service oriented and involves
interaction with Division Finance, Supply Chain, Technical and
Production and Purchasing to develop, analyze, and update standard
costs for all finished goods materials. This position will utilize
three key Nestle tools to perform his/her duties: 1) Material
Ledger (ML) 2) ML COGS 3) Transfer Price Tool 4) Dynamic Forecast
Tool. This associate will play a key role in maintaining the
integrity of the Corporate Costing and reporting processes for
material costs related to Transfer Prices, Standard Costs, Actual
Costs, and Dynamic Forecasts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform PEC activities across Nestle businesses and ensure
alignment of all controlling teams on management accounting
procedures and timelines to include:
- Preliminary Month End Close Model Preparation
- Successful execution of allocation models (eg: Material Ledger,
Cost of Goods Sold, ML COGS, Transfer Price Cockpit), including
error resolution, and productions of posting and reporting
files
- Generation of standardized reporting of PEC Actual results for
analysis, account reconciliation, including Balance sheet and
P&L accounts vs EIS reporting and the Special Ledger.
- Develop EIS queries that will assist Division Finance and CoC
Decision Support in their monthly analytics.
- Ensuring quality of master data in the controlling domain
- Create cost estimates for new materials including copacked and
comanufactured materials
- Lead the manufacturing costing team through key initiatives
with stakeholder management, including:
- Annual Cost Estimate (ACE) process with decision support and
Factory Finance
- Quarterly transfer pricing cost estimates for exported
materials
- Provide costing expertise and analysis of costing standards to
support Factory Finance
- Maintain and update all master data costing tables in SAP
including standard price updates required during the Material Life
Cycle (MLC) process for all new Finished Goods. Accuracy and first
time quality is critical in this role because, once activated, all
material movements for that specific material will occur at the
standard cost entered for the material. SAP does not provide the
flexibility to change or update the standard costs once movements
have occurred
- Maintain and execute the Transfer Price Tool (TP) for Global
Brands Division import and export materials. Main emphasis is on
the quarterly TP Price Lists, but also involves close coordination
with Global Brands on new materials between quarters
- Assist in the quarterly Dynamic Forecast (DF) process for the
COGS DF calculation.
- Assist in the completion of Material Standard Costs for the
annual Operating Plan. Develop tools to analyze year over year
variances that will assist in the accuracy of the data and the OP
P&L
- Coach and develop internal Costing Center of Competence (CCC)
analysts
- All other duties as assignedRequirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or with coursework
up to and including intermediate accounting
- 3+ years of work experience in Costing
- Ability to travel 10% of time
- Prior experience in Operations Finance preferred
- Strong MS Excel and Power BI knowledge preferredSkills
- Strong SAP/technical knowledge
- Ability to perform problem solving and effectively present
information and analysis in a way that can be understood by others
at all levels
